Systems Engineer

We're partnering with a national organisation that operates a diverse portfolio of businesses across Australia. With continued growth and investment, they're looking to bring in a Systems Engineer to strengthen their infrastructure capability.
This is a key role within the team which is suited to someone who enjoys a mix of BAU and project work, and wants to play a hands-on role in modernising environments while supporting critical day-to-day operations. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the stability of existing systems while contributing to the organisation's IT/Cloud strategy.
Responsibilities include:
- Support and maintain core IT infrastructure across both on-premise and cloud environments
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, resolving them efficiently and effectively
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and migration of cloud solutions (Azure or AWS)
- Maintain and enhance existing systems to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability
- Monitor system performance and usage, providing insights and recommendations to leadership
- Support BAU operations while also contributing to ongoing and upcoming project work
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring delivery against SLAs
- Play a key role in strengthening the organisation's cloud capability and long-term strategy
Experience required:
- Strong background in IT operations and infrastructure support, with the ability to handle escalations confidently
- Hands-on experience with cloud design, implementation, and migration (Azure or AWS)
- Solid experience supporting on-premise infrastructure alongside cloud environments
- Strong working knowledge of Linux systems
- Experience managing and working with third-party vendors and service providers
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders
