Are you an early career First Nations professional with a passion for driving social change?

We have partnered with Cox Inall Ridgeway, a team of specialist change-makers working toward an equally prosperous Australia. As a majority First Nations-owned social change agency, this passionate team place First Nations peoples’ inherent rights to self-determination at the heart of everything they do.

The team are looking for a Consultant to join their growing team. This is an Identified position for a First Nations person with a strong interest in communications, policy, research and community engagement. We are not looking for years of experience: just the drive to learn, collaborate, and make an impact. You will be someone with fresh ideas, strong cultural values, and a passion for storytelling, writing and engagement.

You will help deliver projects that drive social change: from contributing to communication campaigns, to undertaking research to inform reports, to facilitating community engagement. You will work across lots of different types of projects, across Government, corporate and Aboriginal Community Controlled clients. You will get to work on real projects and see the impact of your work.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in:

  • Policy and program review and evaluation
  • First Nations led PR, media and campaign work
  • Direct engagement with First Nations communities right across Australia
  • Drafting reports, proposals and campaign content.
  • Juggling multiple projects and deadlines.

Who You Are:

  • You’re someone passionate about working with and for community.
  • You’re curious, proactive and ready to jump in and give things a go.
  • You are passionate about driving change with First Nations communities. You may have some experience in Indigenous Affairs, communications, policy or engagement roles.
  • You’re excited by the idea of shaping strategies, reports, engagement plans and communication campaigns and building something meaningful.
  • You want to grow your career in a place where culture, creativity and collaboration are core values.
  • You’re great with people : whether in writing, over the phone, or in the room.
  • Relevant studies (Arts, Indigenous Studies, Communications, Evaluation, Public Policy etc.) are welcomed, but lived experience, motivation and cultural knowledge are just as valuable.
