About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Java Implementation Engineer to join a growing technology team working on the modernisation of card processing platforms within a regulated financial services environment.
This role combines implementation, development and operational support, working across Java-based systems, cloud platforms and card payment technologies. You'll be supported with structured training and upskilling, making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer with finance experience who is looking to grow into modern, cloud-native platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Java-based implementation, development and support production-grade systems
- Support integration across issuing, acquiring, routing, and retail banking platforms
- Participate in SIT, UAT, migration, certification, and go-live activities
- Identify defects and support issue resolution across development and operations
- Work with AWS-hosted systems, cloud environments, and modern platforms
- Support containerised and microservices-based architectures
What are we looking for?
- Around 2 years+ experience in Java Engineering
- Must have strong knowledge of theoretical Java/Spring Boot
- API experience and creating Rest endpoints
- Experience managing deployments
- Good knowledge in JavaScript/Typescript frameworks
- Excellent communication skills - ability to translate highly technical information to business stakeholders
- Growth mindset - somebody eager to learn and keen to develop and grow
