Director (Team Leader), Fire Safety Engineering

About the role

MCD Fire Engineering is seeking a highly experienced and driven Director (Team Leader) of Fire Safety Engineering to join our team in Sydney, NSW. As the Director, you will be responsible for leading our fire safety engineering services and driving innovation within the company. This is a full-time position based in our Sydney office.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the delivery of fire safety engineering services, including fire engineering performance based solutions (performance based design brief and reports), fire safety audits, and the inspection of the implementation of those fire safety measures as part of those performance based solutions.

Provide expert technical advice and guidance to clients on complex fire safety challenges

Lead a team of fire safety engineers, mentoring and developing their skills

Contribute to the development of new fire safety methodologies and technologies

Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations and standards

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry bodies, and regulatory authorities

Actively participate in the strategic planning and growth of the fire safety engineering business

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Fire Safety Engineering or a related field

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent

Accreditation in NSW (Certifier - Fire Safety (formerly C10 Category))

Minimum 8 years of experience in fire safety engineering, preferably in the Australian industry

Proven track record of leading and managing a team of fire safety engineers

Exceptional technical expertise in fire safety design, analysis, and risk assessment

Strong understanding of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to think strategically and drive innovation in the fire safety engineering field
