Host/Hostess
Casual / Part Time/ Full Time | Shangri-La Sydney

At Shangri-La Sydney, we believe every detail matters. As a Host/Hostess at Altitude Restaurant, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable first impressions and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.
What you’ll do:
- Greet guests warmly, communicate approximate wait times, and manage seating queues to ensure a smooth flow of guests.
- Maintain a seating plan and ensure guests are seated promptly, according to arrival order.
- Ensure tables are properly set before seating guests and maintain a high level of presentation throughout service.
- Communicate with service staff to ensure efficient service, accurate orders, and correct charges to guests.
- Uphold the dress standards for patrons, following the guidelines set by the Director of Food and Beverage.
- Assist service staff in delivering excellent guest service when required.
- Report guest complaints or service concerns promptly to the Service Leader or Service Manager.
- Ensure an adequate supply of menus and wine lists are available and presented to guests to the highest standard.
- Farewell guests with a warm and inviting message, ensuring they look forward to returning.
What makes you perfect for this role:
- Knowledge of the Liquor Act and responsible alcohol service (RSA certification required).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage guest expectations.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high presentation standards.
- Ability to stay organized and efficient during busy service periods.
- Flexibility to assist with various tasks and training programs as needed.
