What you’ll be doing:

Are you passionate about developing innovative technology solutions while ensuring top-tier IT security and compliance? Virgin Australia is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategic development and execution of our technical products. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and external partners to deliver impactful solutions aligned with Virgin Australia’s compliance standards, including ISO, NIST, and PCI. Your leadership will shape secure, compliant products that support the evolving needs of the business and help make IT the most loved technical function in aviation.

You’ll be part of a new team driving business-wide initiatives, helping development, SRE, and infrastructure teams reach their full potential, while ensuring business stakeholder feedback is integrated and security is efficiently prioritized.

You’ll be great for this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in complex business environments
• Familiarity with IT security and compliance (e.g., PCI, NIST, ISO)
• Knowledge of company risk frameworks
• Ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable tasks
• Experience converting standards into compliance tasks
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain issues to management, and other IT teams
• Understanding of ITIL processes and procedures

Desirable but not required:

• ITIL and Agile Certifications
• Experience with security technologies and tools
• Proven track record of collaborating effectively with both in-sourced and outsourced teams
• Proficiency in data reporting and aggregation tools like PowerBI
