Job Senior Software Engineer, The Rocks

Responsibilities (Text Only)

1. Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
2. Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
3. Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
4. Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive project plans, release plans, and work items.
5. Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), guiding other engineers by developing and following the playbook, monitoring systems for issues, alerting stakeholders, and initiating actions to restore services as needed.
6. Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance, while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications / Ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 8+ years of experience in technical engineering with relevant coding skills.
• Or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Background in operating systems like Linux or FreeBSD, with experience in hardware and network development.
• Ability to work cross-team, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
• Excellent design, coding, and problem-solving skills.
