About the Role:
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Canteen Cook to join our hotel’s staff cafeteria team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious, and cost-effective meals for our hotel employees. This is a back-of-house position essential to the well-being of our hardworking team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare daily staff meals (breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner) according to the weekly menu.
Cook large-batch meals while maintaining flavour, nutrition, and presentation standards.
Ensure food is served on time for all staff shifts.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food prep areas.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (local health codes or HACCP standards).
Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of supply needs.
Minimize food wastage through effective portioning and storage.
Collaborate with kitchen helpers and report directly to the Canteen Supervisor.
Requirements:
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a cafeteria or bulk-cooking environment.
Knowledge of basic nutrition and dietary restrictions.
Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene protocols.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
