ABOUT YOU
We are currently seeking UK Food Safety Auditors who are seeking a new opportunity based in Sydney, Australia. You will be a GFSI-equivalent Food Safety Auditor with proven work experience in a range of food disciplines, including BRCGS Food, BRCGS Storage & Distribution, and BRCGS Agents & Brokers, all of which align with the BRCGS categories. Ideally, to allow variety, we require more than 5 of the category fields
Required skills and experience:
- Relevant formal post–secondary qualifications and demonstrable technical competency in Food Technology, Microbiology, Agriculture or related discipline
- Sound knowledge of Quality and Food Safety fundamentals – (strategy and planning, customers and suppliers, people, processes and products, HACCP based
- food safety programs, GMP, measurement and analysis).
- Sound knowledge of multiple food industry sectors (e.g. dairy, baking, food ingredients, ready-to-eat meals, produce)
- Maintenance and update of own knowledge of standards, regulations, codes of practice and industry technical requirements.
- Sound computer and operating systems literacy, including, but not limited to, basic word processing and keyboard skills.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Food Safety Auditors are responsible for planning and conducting audits and audit-related services in a timely and effective manner, employing the relevant risk assessment standards or assessment criteria and maintaining the audit process rigour and technical integrity, to meet internal and external accreditation requirements.
Key activities:
- Plan and complete comprehensive process audits and/or product audits, on time and according to relevant standards or competencies.
- Coordinate internal and external communications regarding client management needs.
- Consistently implement SAI Global policies and procedures.
- Prioritise competing needs of clients, management and colleagues.
- Maintain comprehensive customer files, including all necessary documentation.
- Demonstrate ability to balance attention to detail with high-level strategic understanding of clients’ businesses.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell SAI Global programs/products.
- Employ relevant risk assessment standards when planning and conducting audits.
- Understand and accommodate the unique business needs of the client while protecting the integrity of the SAIG program and the relevant standards or competencies.
- Apply knowledge of business improvement techniques, both internally and when auditing client organisations.
