The Paediatric ENT Surgery Trainee - Unaccredited Position is available at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH), for the 2026 Clinical Year, for up to 12 months from 02 February 2026 to 31 January 2027.


The Paediatric ENT Unaccredited Trainee position at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, provides an opportunity to further develop paediatric ENT skills in the spheres of clinical care, surgical procedures, education and supervision under the supervision of consultant paediatric ENT surgeons. Responsibilities include providing surgical ENT support to the patients of paediatric Staff Specialists and Visiting Medical Officers, and emergency support to the patients in all clinical areas of Sydney Children’s Hospital (SCH) including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, inpatient and outpatient areas. There is a consultative role for neonates at the Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) and a cross appointment to Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH). The Trainee will have a role in teaching junior medical officers, nurses and undergraduates.

Selection Criteria:

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
  2. Minimum three years postgraduate experience
  3. Between two and four years ENT experience
  4. Possession of primary FRACS (successful pass in GSSE). Evidence of having passed the GSSE is essential.
  5. Evidence of clinical and/or laboratory research and demonstrated ability to teach. Please provide an example
  6. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure the appropriate management of the patient. Please provide an example
  8. Proven ability to organise, plan and manage competing tasks. Please provide an example
