The Opportunity

• This is a permanent, full-time position based in Sydney, with flexible work and a beautiful office in Martin Place
• Be an early-stage engineer in a disruptive identity and security startup
• Work with a new, modern tech stack (TypeScript, GraphQL, Azure)

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and help build something from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage SaaS company where you’ll have real impact and ownership as part of a small, focused team bringing our product to life.

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency is a must.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deliver complex services and features, adhering to high security standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to analyse requirements, define technical approaches, and plan deliverables.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure high-quality code through peer reviews and hands-on development.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• Proactively identify technical challenges and propose solutions that improve product scalability, security, and performance.
• Research and embed AI-assisted development tools to enhance code quality, speed up delivery, and streamline engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in software development, ideally with at least some of that in a startup environment
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, React, MUI, Azure
• A University degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experiencewith Identity, Authentication and Authorisation, including Microsoft Azure and Entra ID, and DevOps and CI/CD is a big plus
