The Project & Opportunity:
HumeLink East involves the expansion of the existing Bannaby 500 kV substation, along with the design and construction of 230km of new 500 kV double circuit transmission line. This new transmission line will connect the Bannaby 500 kV substation at the Wondalga interface point with HumeLink West.
For this project, we are seeking a Construction Manager to be responsible for managing all related construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that the appropriate resources (including personnel) are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality, environmental and safety procedures are integrated.
Oversee development and implementation of the Project Construction Management Plan.
Maintain project schedule by implementing the construction schedule and, controlling construction progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
Manage construction budgets to allow accurately profit / loss forecasting.
Organise and manage Acciona's construction team, vendors and subcontractors on Site.
Setting clear targets & KPIs and manage interfaces between Subcontractors & Acciona to achieve safe completion of the works in line with schedule & budget.
Provide ongoing feedback, support, counsel, through informal discussion, regular review and formal performance appraisal and encourages feedback from staff.
Required Skills and Competencies
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
Preferably 10 years' experience in construction/engineering projects with exposure to renewable projects
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively with others.
Experience managing budgets and cost forecasting in construction
Presented problem solving / analytical skills.
Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
