The Orient Hotel, an iconic venue in the heart of The Rocks, is seeking a skilled Chef to join our culinary team. Known for our classic pub favourites, seasonal specials, and lively atmosphere, we pride ourselves on delivering great food that keeps our guests coming back.
The Role
As a Chef at the Orient Hotel, you’ll be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality dishes across lunch, dinner, and event service. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, maintain high standards of food preparation, and contribute to the smooth running of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with venue recipes and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak periods.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Monitor stock, assist with ordering, and manage storage to reduce waste.
- Support the development of menu items and daily specials.
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Previous experience as a Chef in a busy pub, bistro, or similar environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- A commitment to consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and team-focused approach.
- Relevant trade qualifications preferred.
