About Us
Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessel's harness Wind, Solar and Wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.
About the Role
As the Software Team Lead, you will be responsible for a team of high performing Engineers who are designing, developing and maintaining systems that drive Ocius's products, most notably our Bluebottle platform.
This role requires a solid background in Software Engineering, Design and Deployment, as well as a passion for people and experience in management.
What You'll Do:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing software engineering team
Day to day management software team to deliver on team goals
Software design, development, integration, and validation for autonomous vehicle control, device management, navigation, communications, and related applications
Interact with stakeholders to obtain and understand requirements and deliverables, and develop test plans
Manage rapid product updates, often deploying code and new software the same day as the request is made
Ensure software is scalable and maintainable to support the next generation of autonomous systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions in defense/marine technology
Selection Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
Demonstrated People Leadership experience, growing developing and leading high performing software teams (>3years)
Experience with agile methodologies and tools
Strong software development skills (>5 years) in C++
Desire and ability to learn new tools and languages
Track record leading a team that delivers production code to market (thousands of end user hours)
Experience developing on Linux platform
