Are you ready to create powerful campaigns that engage supporters and change lives? Lead compelling donor campaigns that drive real-world impact. Be part of a globally connected humanitarian organisation.
  • Lead on the integrated strategy for warm appeals to support refugees around the world
  • Deliver creative, data-led direct marketing campaigns with a focus on direct mail
  • Join a purpose-driven team making global impact from Sydney

Australia for UNHCR is seeking a passionate Direct Marketing Coordinator to join their high-performing Fundraising team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support and lead end-to-end direct marketing campaigns that support people displaced by conflict, disaster and persecution worldwide.

About Australia for UNHCR
Australia for UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner, dedicated to raising funds and awareness to support UNHCR’s global humanitarian response. Since its founding in 2000, the organisation has raised over $500 million, helping to deliver emergency shelter, clean water, education, healthcare and long-term support to millions of displaced people.

About the Role
Reporting to the Direct Marketing Manager, the Direct Marketing Coordinator – Appeals and Loyalty is responsible for delivering integrated campaigns that acquire, retain and renew both single and regular donors. With a strong focus on storytelling and supporter experience, you’ll drive warm and acquisition direct mail campaigns and loyalty communications across Australia and New Zealand.
This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role that plays a key part in ensuring Australia for UNHCR’s fundraising goals are met while delivering an exceptional experience to its loyal community of supporters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • End-to-end project management of acquisition mail appeals and bi-annual retention communication - including timelines, budgets, creative direction and data segmentation strategy
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders including the digital team, and partnerships and Philanthropy team, to deliver channel integrated strategies for quarterly warm appeals, and end-to-end delivery of the direct mail component for the core donor segment
  • Deliver emergency appeals as required
  • Liaise with external suppliers including mail houses, list brokers, copywriters and designers
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Data, BI, Communications) to ensure seamless execution
  • Optimise supporter engagement touchpoints to improve retention and donor lifetime value
  • Monitor and analyse campaign performance; contribute to post-campaign reviews
  • Support budgeting, reforecasting, and procurement processes

About You:
You’re a data-driven and detail-oriented marketer who thrives on delivering direct mail campaigns that make a real difference. You love planning, collaborating and using creative thinking to solve problems. You bring a strong sense of purpose and a donor-first mindset to every task, and you’re ready to grow your career in a mission-driven organisation. You thrive in a collaborative and diverse environment.

Essential Experience & Skills:
  • Proven early experience working on the delivery of Direct Mail appeals or Direct Mail focused loyalty campaigns in a fundraising context
  • Creative mindset and desire to drive fundraising impact through storytelling
  • Demonstrated project management and proofing skills
  • Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident working with data segmentation and to targets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or fundraising, or relevant experience
  • Experience with CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce)
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Experience in the delivery of supporter/customer experience initiatives
Why Join Australia for UNHCR?:
  • A meaningful role with global impact
  • A supportive, collaborative, inclusive and mission-driven culture
  • Sydney CBD location (near Wynyard Station) with hybrid work flexibility
  • Generous salary packaging benefits (up to $15,900 tax-free)

How to Apply:
