More about the Wild Hearts Content Creator role at Blackbird
Blackbird is hiring a Content Creator to tell a richer story for our Wild Hearts podcast. This is a part time role of 10-15 hours per week.
In 2020, we launched our Wild Hearts podcast to share the real stories of the creativity and courage of the people behind startups, the passionate few taking giant leaps forward. Over four series and 40 episodes, we’ve been joined by thousands of listeners to hear from founders and operators navigating their way through the often messy and difficult ups and downs of building a business.
In our fifth season, we want to scale the impact of Wild Hearts by reaching thousands more listeners in new mediums. We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes video content creation to help us build the Wild Hearts brand and grow our audience.
Some examples of what you’ll do:
Create marketing materials to promote Wild Hearts and grow our audience (referring listeners and increasing subscriptions) through social media
Understand and double-down on the types of marketing content that have the biggest impact on referring new listeners to Wild Hearts
Draw on the episode transcripts to write copy for brand channels like our newsletter, social media and episode descriptions
You do not need to be a professional filmmaker or writer (but if you are, that’s cool too!) - we are looking for someone with proven experience creating video content for social media, and a passion for engaging with and building audiences across social media.
Someone with unbounded curiosity and a mindset of enlightened hospitality for the founders that they serve, who is excited to become a custodian of the Blackbird Mission, Values and Operating Principles.
Position Requirements
Your background is less important than the key skills, which include:
Video content creation
Copywriting
Creativity and experimentation
Content planning
Content analysis
We’re looking for someone who is as passionate as us about building an iconic investment business. You must have a high ownership mentality and the ability to take responsibility for goals and outcomes.
This role is a part time internship based in Sydney or Melbourne, with the flexibility to work from home.

Connection: While being big fans of a fully distributed workforce, we value our vibe and time to connect online and IRL through team and company offsites, monthly social activities, weekly lunches and our many social clubs (#fun-manis, #fun-fantasybookclub, #bb-craft just to name a few!)
Blackbird is a Pledge 1% member — we pledge 1% of our time, equity and profits to help not-for-profit causes in our community. Through Pledge 1%, we established the Blackbird Foundation to supercharge the creative capabilities of young people.
We are also very proud to have won the 2023 AFR Best Place to Work award in three categories including Overall winner. In 2022, we became certified as one of Australia’s Great Places to Work.
