Think HQ is seeking an experienced communicator to step into a unique PR role where media strategy, content development, and storytelling come together. You’ll drive integrated campaigns that engage diverse audiences and deliver purposeful, measurable results.

You’ll help lead and shape campaigns across earned, owned, and shared channels – all grounded in strong storytelling that resonates in today’s media landscape and drives positive change.

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of sectors - from public interest and government to arts, entertainment, tourism, and social impact - delivering great communications to clients who align with our values and ambition to create positive change.
Role responsibilities include:
Media Relations & Strategy
- Develop and execute media strategies across traditional, digital, and social platforms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, content creators and media outlets, with an emphasis on emerging digital news platforms.
- Pitch compelling stories and coordinate interviews, briefings, and events that generate high-value coverage across outlets and platforms.
- Develop integrated media strategies spanning traditional, digital, and emerging platforms.
- Build and maintain strong journalist, influencer, and creator relationships.
- Monitor news and digital trends to shape timely, context-aware responses.
Content, Communications & Story
- Write engaging media materials, including media releases, briefing notes, media kits, Q&As, and op-eds. Collaborate on integrated communication plans that include earned media, paid media, social, content, and community engagement.
- Craft compelling, values-aligned narratives for campaigns, brands, and issues that resonate across diverse communities and media platforms.
- Collaborate with creative and digital teams to produce high-impact, multi-channel content.
- Develop strategies for owned channels and community-building initiatives.
- Translate data and audience insight into actionable content plans.
Client & Campaign Support
- Support to clients on campaign planning, delivery, and reporting.
- Work with Think HQs creative, digital, and production teams to bring ideas to life.
- Monitor media trends, client coverage, and industry developments to inform strategy.
Innovation & Future Capability
- Support internal capability-building in future-facing skills (AI, data, cultural insight, content production).
- Pilot new tools, formats, and channels to keep our work at the forefront of the industry.
- Present and outline trends with colleagues, ensuring they align with agency principles.
Team Contribution & Culture
- Bring a curious, entrepreneurial energy and collaborative mindset to a growing and values-driven team.
- Contribute to a culture of learning, experimentation, and collaboration.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to new business development.
- Help grow the agency’s capabilities and reputation through proactive thinking, pitching, and new business support.

- A love of telling a great story, reaching audiences where they are and changing behaviours through super-smart innovation.
- At least five years experience in PR, communications, or a related field.
- Deep cultural awareness and inclusive communication instincts.
- A passion for driving positive change across your work.
- Deep understanding of the digital news media landscape and how to work within it.
- Strong relationships with journalists, content creators or commentators - and a proven ability to secure engaging, high-impact coverage.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Highly personable, proactive, and adaptable, with a can-do attitude.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working independently, as part of a fast-paced team, and across Think HQ’s integrated services.
- Skilled in story development, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and crisis/issues management.
- Comfortable working with (or learning) data analytics, content tools, and AI-supported workflows.
- Highly collaborative, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in helping grow a future-facing agency.
