About the role:
- Oversee litigation before courts and tribunals, managing case strategy and risk.
- Lead litigation, costs recovery, and external intervention functions to ensure high-quality regulatory outcomes.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders, including Council, Committees, and the CEO.
- Manage external intervention programs, including compliance audits and regulatory actions.
- Supervise and develop a team of legal professionals, driving performance and policy improvements.
The ideal candidate:
- Holds admission as a Solicitor/Barrister in Australia with a valid (or eligible) practising certificate.
- 8+ years PQE with strong litigation expertise and regulatory experience.
- Proven leadership experience managing legal teams and complex legal functions.
- Exceptional ability to provide strategic legal advice, assess risk, and drive high-quality legal outcomes.
- Strong understanding of the Uniform Law and broader legal regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage litigation budgets, resources, and reputational risks.
